It has been a while since we have seen a campaign this solid to jump on. Folks in Binéfar, Spain, are camping in front of the soon-to-be biggest slaughterhouse in Europe, occupying land and disturbing the works that the business is trying to push faster and faster to get it opened.
The slaughterhouse is aiming to kill 30,000 pigs per day, exporting most of them to other countries. The owner of the business is already in prison for tax evasion, the company has faced multiple trials for animal cruelty and the locals don’t want the slaughterhouse.
For that reason, we are calling for any and all our supporters to head to Binéfar, from wherever you are, and ensure that horrible building doesn’t open at all. For the 30,000 pigs that they want to kill a day, for the huge environmental impact that rearing, transporting and killing those pigs will have alongside with the export of the corpses, and for the exploitation of workers, let’s stop this place once and for all!
