MAGPIE LIBERATED, LARSEN TRAP DESTROYED.

  • April 3, 2019

1st April, UK

Received from Wild Act:

“Whilst out and about we found a Larsen trap with a magpie inside. We were quick to release them as they seemed stressed over our presence. Larsen traps will be widely used all the way through mid summer in an attempt to disrupt breeding pairs of corvids (mostly magpies and crows). The hunters will use a decoy bird (sometimes plastic but in most cases alive) to attract others into the trap. They will then kill the trapped birds. Larsen traps are easy to spot as they are either set in clean ground or risen above bushes. A walk around farm land and game shoots should be enough to find a few!

Needles to say that the cage was dealt with.
